Reason organizes yourself
Reason organizes the mind. It puts everything in its proper place, categorized, so it can be easily accessed later.
The more you organize, the more organized you become. The more organized is your mind, the more you know what is going on, and why, and how. The more predictable things become, the more control you have. The more time you have to enjoy your life, instead of fixing the mess you create.
If you operate by accumulating information randomly, you end up piling up junk. A pen mixed with beans, a screw with a tennis racket, a bicycle with a drill. Altruism with benevolence, selfishness with narcissism, religion with knowledge.
As you grow older, your head becomes a vast mess that you eventually give up on tidying. You end up with confusing emotions tha distort your thinking, and frustration with people that supposedly you thought that contributed to your happiness. It gets chaotic, and you give up.
A mind that did not bother to organize itself is like the garage of an old house where the owner never made the effort to put things in order.

This was how I looked at everything pre-Objectivism. It was Objectivism that helped me understand just why organization is so important to everything. You keep explaining my life!
